Established in 2012 as Moving2Canada Recruitment, we re-branded our agency in 2016 to account for the fact that we now specialize in local recruitment, in addition to our international recruitment experience. Our business has transitioned an international recruitment business focus towards combining both local and international talent to meet the needs of our clients.

We have developed a strong local network of talent, complementing our ability to recruit internationally and providing the optimal selection of qualified, highly skilled employees that your business requires.

Having outgrown our initial international focus, we now have a unique dual offering to meet the needs of employers.

Born in Ireland, Ruairi Spillane grew up in a family-run Bed & Breakfast near Killarney, where he was constantly interacting with guests from all over the world. Having studied a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies and a Master’s in Financial Services, Ruairi worked in financial services in Dublin for three years until he was recruited to work in beautiful Vancouver in 2008.

Ruairi quickly adapted to the Canadian workplace but realized that lots of newcomers struggled to differentiate themselves and communicate their value to employers. Having observed the powerful impact of international migrants within multicultural Canada, he set up Moving2Canada.com as an information website to empower newcomers. In 2012, he established his own recruitment agency in order to meet the needs of construction and engineering employers.

Ruairi’s strong people skills, technical competence. and lust for learning have helped him excel and to have set himself apart from many of the others in the recruitment industry. In his free time, Ruairi travels extensively and enjoys snowboarding, hiking, and backcountry camping.

In 2019, Ruairi was was awarded Best Immigrant Entrepreneur at the 16th Annual Small Business BC Awards.
